Domestic / International Airport
The Fukuoka Airport is the main airport on Kyushu and is the fourth busiest passenger airport in Japan since 2017, Fukuoka airport is the fourth busiest single-runway airport in the world by passenger traffic. The airport is conveniently closer to the more populated residential areas of Fukuoka city which makes it extremely accessible from various directions. The airport is not 24/7 operational and the last flights end around 10 pm. this is to minimize noise pollution. Flights are allowed to resume operational flights from 7 am. Based on configuration design, the domestic terminal is easily accessible from downtown Tenjin and takes less than 10 minutes by subway which will drop you off in the terminal. As for the international Terminal side, it is accessible by highway (off ramp takes you right to the international terminal) bus, car and taxi.
Recently, the Fukuoka airport has went through a major redesign and rebuilding to the domestic terminal which took a few years and recently reopened.
