The entrance really is hard to find, and I don’t recommend visiting really, but if you are really interested to see it in person, you could go.

There’s another site in southern Iwate where 300 Christians were killed all at once around the beginning of the Edo period. The river was said to have run red with blood that day. In fact, there are a number of sites up here relating to the hidden Christians.

I’m interested in this somewhat dark part of Japanese history, as it’s a early intersection of cultures that resulted in tragedy. After I read more and find more information I plan to do a more in-depth video on the topic of the hidden Christians in north Japan.
