Join us on a bikepacking trip through Wakayama prefecture in Japan! This video is our fifth and sixth day – cycling along Wakayama’s coast line from Mihama to Shirahama, about 40km.

We enjoyed taking a look at Wakayama’s old train stations featuring cool artworks by local artists in Inami and Haya. The cycle to Shirahama was quite rough, as there was a lot of traffic along the main roads, but the sea and beach views rewarded us!

Knowing that we’ll do a lot of cycling (around 90 km a day) before and after Shirahama, we booked two nights at the beautiful and luxurious Marriott Nanki hotel so we could fully enjoy this place. And what can we say – it was worth it as Shirahama was one of our favourite places! On our second day, we explore a brewery, a museum with the most stunning views and were lucky to watch the most stunning sunset over Engetsu Island.

We hope you enjoy Jonathan’s live piano music filmed at Inami Station in the first half and his tailored soundtrack in the second.
