Our Adventure to Godzilla Rock! // Akita Prefecture Japan

In a race against time we hope to make it before the sun fully sets!

We spent the entire day adventuring to so many areas of Akita. In a mad dash to catch Godzilla Rock just before sunset we pushed it to the limit, and was lucky enough to still make it, though not at the optimal time for the perfect shot!

You can find this Godzilla-shaped rock on the Oga Peninsula in Akita prefecture. The Godzilla Rock is the most Godzilla-like at sunset, as it is backlit with the burning orange sun. Go just at the right time to see the sun hitting Godzilla’s mouth area, so it looks as if it is spewing fire. The other rocks in the area are also jagged and in all unique shapes.
