At midnight I took a walk along a narrow alley on the west side of Hiroshima Station.
Many izakaya (Japanese-style pubs) operate on this street.
After the war, it was known as a dangerous area, but today it is loved by locals as a gastronomic area for those in the know.
It is a place worth visiting if you travel to Hiroshima. It will be a memorable trip with a touch of old Japan.
We ate our way through several izakayas in this area called Eki-Nishi, and all provided excellent service and food.
