From Tokyo, Shinkansen is the best way to access Kyoto. From Osaka, JR rapid express train and many other trains, Hankyu, Keihan trains are available to Kyoto.
Kamogawa river bank is near by Kyoto station, it is about 20 min walk from the station or you can take a bus from the station.
Arashiyama area can access by JR sagano line from Kyoto station. It is about 10 min train ride.
Tetsugakunomichi area can access by subway Karasuma line and Tozai line. It is about 20 min train ride from Kyoto station.
