Kakudayama (481.7 meters above sea level), located in Nishikan Ward, Niigata City, is designated as Sado Yahiko Yoneyama National Monument and is visited by many climbers from inside and outside the prefecture throughout the year. In addition, most of the vegetation that grows naturally in the mountains of Niigata Prefecture can be observed, and from March to April every year, hepatica and erythronium flowers color the mountains.
At the foot of the mountain lies the Kakudahama beach where there is a lighthouse and a seaside line facing Japan sea. Sunset view is a must-see for hikers going down from the mountain.
Thank you for watching.
