Luxembourg is one of over 190 countries with a pavilion at the World’s Fair, Expo 2020 Dubai. The World’s Fair (or World Expo) is a major world exhibition which has been taking place once every five years since the 1850s. Many of the world’s most famous landmarks were built for or in relation to different World’s Fairs, including the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Space Needle in Seattle. The latest edition has been running since October 2021 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. By all accounts, Luxembourg’s pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai is one of the most popular and iconic. By late February 2022, over 550,000 people had come through Luxembourg’s pavilion. LuxCitizenship had the opportunity to interview its Director, Daniel Sahr, who explains for Luxembourg Dual Citizens in the Americas more about this unique building and why Luxembourg has stood out at what is called the “biggest show on Earth.”
Expo 2020 Dubai comes to an end on March 31, 2022.
