I made my way to Wabakimi Provincial Park in northern Ontario for a solo canoe trip in 2017. I found easy drive up access to the park and surrounding crown lands from the small town of Armstrong. I spent 15 days out, paddling a big loop to the north through large and small lakes and all kinds of weather conditions. The portages and fishing were great, and I went 12 days without seeing another person.
In Part 2 I leave Laurent Lake and continue north through Whitewater Lake where I spend a little time looking through the ruins of the Wendell Beckwith cabins on Best Island. After a night camping on Whitewater Lake I head northwest up the Grayson River.
