Kep is located on Cambodias coast. Kep National Park is a delightful mass of jungle offering vistas across the ocean and mountains. Kep used to be the place to be seen during Cambodia’s Golden Age (1950’s – 1960’s). Having said that, its undergoing a revival and is now an attractive tourist destination not too far away from Phnom Penh city. Seemingly sleepy on the outside, there’s plenty to see and we share some of it with you in this vlog.

In this guide, we share with you our recommended things to do if you’re ever in Kep province. We Kickstart our guide with our stay at Adventure Dome Resort. Situated about 4km’s from the beach, this place offers good amenities such as a salt water pool and surrounding garden. What’s really unique about this place is the spherical dome side rooms where guests can experience comfort amidst the wilderness.

We also take a ride around the city to get a feel for it. There’s an abundance of beachside shacks where you can stop to relax or sample local seafood like prawns, crab, fish and squid. We ride past the pier where you can catch a boat to Rabbit Island. A return ticket costs $20 and takes 20 minutes.

Next, we visit Kep Crab Market. We first heard of this market from a Mark Wiens Youtube video. This is where most of the country’s fresh seafood comes from and also where you can watch fishermen bringing in their catch, live fish squirming in buckets and squid being barbecued on sticks. You can purchase seafood and have it cooked right in front of you with spices such as Kampot pepper and garlic.

Our last stop is Kep beach, where you can have a swim or take a stroll on the beach.
