Osaka → Tsuruga → Hokkaido
In the previous video, we took the Thunderbird from Osaka to JR Tsuruga Station.
From the Tsuruga Ferry Terminal in Fukui Prefecture, you will board the New Nihonkai Ferry to the Tomakomai East Ferry Terminal in Hokkaido.
The New Nihonkai Ferry is an overnight ferry that sails 948 km, 20 hours one way, and allows passengers to travel from Kansai to Hokkaido without flying.
This route is recommended for travellers who cannot get cheap plane tickets or who want to take their time travelling to Hokkaido.
From Tomakomai East Ferry Terminal, a paid shuttle bus is available to JR Minami Chitose Station near New Chitose Airport.
