We take the OVERNIGHT ferry in JAPAN from Oita to Kobe!!
In today’s Japan Travel Vlog we show you our new FAVOURITE way to travel in Japan – by boat!
Famous for its high-tech modern public transport (looking at you Shinkansen), Japan is mostly very easy to navigate on trains or highway buses, which can take you to many of the popular tourist destinations in Japan. But what about those hidden gem Japan destinations in the idyllic Japanese countryside that aren’t so accessible by bullet train?
In today’s vlog come along with us on Japan’s most under-utilised mode of transport- the overnight ferry!! Japan has a wide network of ferries that can take you to the lesser-known spots in Japan. The ferries have different packages, including an open room, closed cabins and luxury suits to suit all budgets. In fact, taking the ferry is a great way to explore Japan on a budget, as it’s often cheaper than the combined cost of a bullet train ticket and hotel!

WHO WE BE:
Hi we’re Theo and Ashley, a British couple who decided to pack up and move to Japan 🇯🇵 We spent a year living in the countryside of the northern prefecture of Hokkaido before moving to Kobe City! We’re documenting our time in Japan by making videos about things we find interesting, without being too serious.
