Nagoya is a combination of ancient and new. The city has been considerably rebuilt and rezoned after being heavily bombed during WWII. Nagoya now has a plethora of intriguing attractions for travelers. This central Japanese city is crisscrossed with ultra-modern motorways and gorgeous architectural edifices, as well as cultural icons such as Nagoya Castle, Atsuta Jingu, the Toyota Museum, and the Tokugawa Art Museum.
Because of its central location between Tokyo and Kyoto, Nagoya is a major travel center, and many visitors praise the city’s extensive metro system, which makes it one of Japan’s most accessible cities. Visitors can take day trips to other nearby destinations using Nagoya as a base.
