We went plum blossom viewing near Kobe city in the suburb of Okamoto. It’s only about 20 minutes from Osaka and has one of the best plum blossom spots called Okamoto Bairin Park. Later, we hiked up Mt. Rokko to Hokura Shrine and saw more plum blossoms.
We also had the best coffee in Japan, ate some delicious and unique chicken ramen at a Hoshi-Shirazu Ramen pop-up store inside a Niwatorinosuke restaurant. And we devoured a sumptuous souffle pancake at the newly opened Licorne.
Okamoto is definitely a hidden gem for a chill day trip from Osaka or Kobe.
