A 40+ kilometer (to and from) hike to Mount Pinatubo via Sapang Uwak Trail. Since it eruption in 1991, it has been dubbed as a “beautiful disaster” and has been since became a major tourist destination.
Mount Pinatubo is an active stratovolcano located on the boundaries of Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga. It currently has an elevation of 1,486 meters above sea level.
There are 3 main routes to reach the crater lake. You can take a 4×4 tour either in Capas, Tarlac, or in Botolan, Zambales. For the more adventurous, you can hike up to Mount Pinatubo crater lake by joining an organized hike as I did.
This video was shot using Iphone 7plus, DJI mini 2, and DJI Osmo Pocket.
This overnight hike to Mount Pinatubo was organized by my friend Mac Wilson of Mudman Trekker.
