If you think this eminent National Treasure looks somewhat familiar, you must have seen it on the 10 yen coin. Also on the 10000 yen bill is a phoenix from the golden statue standing on the roof of the Phoenix Hall.
Uji is a 30-minute train ride away from Kyoto, where you can find attractive tea houses that serve first-class green tea called Uji-cha, and scrumptious sweets to go with it, too!
