In our 3rd collaboration with VICE Media, self-proclaimed coffee nut Vaughan, who originally hails from Melbourne, travels through the Tohoku region.
Experience the lesser-known parts of Japan, with a dose of history, culture and uniqueness that cannot be found anywhere else. Together with Vaughan, we will learn how use a samurai sword, take a dip in a historical onsen hot spring town, take a train together with some Japanese folklore characters, take a break in a 17th century town and more.
Tohoku is the north-easternmost part of Honshu, the largest of Japan’s main islands. The region is comprised of 6 prefectures (Akita, Aomori, Fukushima, Iwate, Miyagi, and Yamagata) and is home to some of Japan’s best secret experiences. No matter your travel preferences, you’ll find something for you in Tohoku.
