Rokkakudo Temple is located in downtown Kyoto city (near the intersection of Karasuma and Sanjo Streets) and is historically marked as the center of Kyoto City. It is originally founded by Prince Shotoku Taishi and is known as The Hexagonal Temple, as the main hall of the temple is built in an hexagonal Style. This temple is famously known as the birth place of “Ikebana” – the Japanese style floral arrangement.
