Great experience of the skiing in Nozawa Onsen (Prefectura Nagano), snow monkeys park (Yamanouchi-machi), Matsumoto castle. Really suggest to try the traditional pies in Nozawa Onsen after skiing, they sell it in the street in warm glass boxes, try some sushi with tuna and of course traditional ryokan (traditional japanese home, where you sleep in the floor) and onsen (japanese spring water baths).
