The North Star on Royal Caribbean Quantum-class Cruise Ships is one-of-a-kind and intimate experience where a jewel-like capsule is attached to a giant robotic swivel arm that ascends 300 feet above sea level.

Due to its popularity, unfortunately, this ride is not for everyone unless you have 1-4 hours of time to spare for queuing. We have queued for close to 2 hours for the ride. Our total ride time was about 15 minutes, given that the capsule has the additional rotating to the side since it was a sea day. Do take note that in port, the ride will take around 10 minutes due to restrictions on how far the pod can extend over the side of the ship. Therefore, the capsule arm does not swivel over to the side of the ship. Hence, if you want to experience the full range of the North Star, take a ride on a sea day when the ship is cruising in the ocean.
For the shorter queuing period, you can try your luck when other cruisers are exploring in port or arrive early for the first ride of the day. Also, crew members will temporarily suspend the North Star ride or limit its range of movement during rough seas and bad weather.
