Super excited to be sharing our adventures in Nikko!
We visited Nikko mid-October when fall weather was just rolling in (sorry it took a while for us to get this out!) and we had an AMAZING time.
In this video (part 1), we hit up Toshogu Shrine, Kirifuri Falls and did the Komaruyama hike at Kirifuri Highland – although this technically wasn’t really a hike because it was boardwalk and stairs the entire way. BUT we saw a beautiful rainbow and it stayed with us for most of the hike!
We also had a stroke of luck and caught the most amazing sunrise ever from our hotel and even got to enjoy a sea of clouds, or Unkai (雲海).
We think that Nikko is such a charming place and we highly recommend visiting! There’s plenty to do there.
Stay tuned for part 2 where we go check out Kegon Falls (one of Japan’s 3 Great Falls!) and Ryuzu Falls at Chuzenji Lake for the autumn leaves 🍂
