Okinawa Travel: First Impressions (Not like Japan!)

With unfortunately bad weather for most of my trip, I spent Christmas 2021 on Okinawa Island, 1000 miles south west of Tokyo.
I vaguely new that Okinawa had its own culture before going but not to this extend. If anyone in Tokyo’s urge to travel during the pandemic has been suffocated by the copy-paste style of mainland cities, I would recommend Okinawa for a different change of pace.
Even without the gorgeous weather (sigh), Okinawa is an incredibly interesting place to explore with its own unique culture, music, food and religious mythos.
