What’s winter like in Da Nang? If you asked me last year, I’d say it was the absolute best time of year. But last winter was unusually mild and dry…and this year we’ve snapped back to something closer to normal.

It’s been relentlessly dark, chilly, wet and rainy: a cold, soggy perpetual twilight. So when a day breaks with blue skies, it’s pure joy.

So I’m grabbing my camera and breaking out of the confines of my small studio apartment — I’m heading to the beach to soak up the mild winter sun and fresh sea air. Let’s go!

When you get to the part with the fishermen, you’ll see a team of people hauling something up from the sea with a long rope…I’ve no idea what this is about. I see this often in the morning, and I don’t know if they are acting as a tether for a round fishing boat out at sea, or…what? Any Da Nangers have the answer? Leave it in the comments! The rope is really long…it goes way out into the waves and disappears. The only thing I can see out there is a round woven fishing boat in the far distance. A mystery.

Thanks for coming along for my sun celebration beach walk. I’ll see you in my next video, until then..be well.
