Qing Jing Farms is a little picturesque highlands village settlement along the road that leads all the way up to Mount Hehuan (合歡山). Mount Hehuan is a 3,416-metre-high (11,207 ft) mountain in Central Taiwan (台中) which is part of the Central Mountain Range (中央山脈). The peak lies on the borders of Nantou and Hualien counties and is situated at Taroko National Park.
Hehuanshan is one of the most popular tourists destinations in central Taiwan. The road is quite narrow and winding, it remains the only west/east connection via Taiwan’s central mountain range as the other trans-island road that connected the west and east coast of Taiwan were destroyed after the 1999 earthquakes. Therefore, the journey can be arduous especially when there are slow-moving trucks and buses crawling up that narrow, winding road in front of your vehicle.
Qing Jing Farms (清境農場) itself is especially popular among locals and tourists because it has many Hotel with European style architectures or beds & breakfasts offered by the locals. It also has a set of little Swiss Gardens, grassland and meadows where the lambs roam freely.
