Join us for a truly magical adventure. Despite being the 2nd most photographed place in Kyoto, no picture could ever capture the feeling of walking through this bamboo forest. It feels like being in another world, an escape from reality into a movie about ancient Japan. When they talk about “virtual experiences”, this is what they mean. Despite being in the city of Kyoto, this district is rich with scenery. Mountains, rivers, and the breathtaking greenery of the bamboo towering above us; it’s no wonder that this is where the wealthy elite of Old Japan built their vacation homes. In addition to the natural beauty, Shohei will lead us on our exploration into some small local craft shops and teach us about typical street foods as he samples a few himself, an extension of our own senses of taste and smell. “Who knows, maybe as we together cross the Togetsukyo Bridge, he might be inspired to share a song with us as we watch the people around us and the river below us flow past, as it has done for a thousand years.”
