Introducing Tama-den, a train named in honour of a famous calico cat who revived a train line. Tama became the first feline stationmaster at Kishi Station in Wakayama Prefecture and served from 2007-2015. 🐈 After saving the train line from near extinction, Tama was knighted by the prefectural government for her work in promoting local tourism. 🥇 If you ever visit Kishi or Idakiso Stations, you might meet the new stationmaster Nitama (Tama the 2nd) and her assistant Yontama (Tama the 4th). But they do have scheduled days off, so check these before going to avoid disappointment!
