Mount Akagi is a mountain in Gunma Prefecture, Japan. The broad, low dominantly andesitic stratovolcano rises above the northern end of the Kanto Plain.
Lake Onuma is a popular summer getaway with camping grounds, rental boats, and small inns.
Akagi Shrine stands on a small peninsula in Lake Onuma in Guma. The intensely red paint of the shrine and the long narrow bridge between the peninsula and the main shore creates a striking contrast to the lake and surrounding mountains.
