Mar., 2018, Gion District, Kyoto, Japan – Gion District of Kyoto in Japan is famous for the well-known entertainment section of Geishas and Maikos (young Geishas in training). Walking the atmospheric, historic streets of Gion, we see the old traditional wooden town houses with paper lanterns lining the narrow streets of this centuries old district of Kyoto, giving us a unique perspective of what the Geishas and Maikos entertainment district would have been like hundreds of years ago. Hurrying through the streets we catch glimpses of exotic looking Geishas or Geikos as they are called, in Kyoto where old traditions and modern lifestyle seem to mix in a seamless, eternal fashion.
