Ameyoko” is a shopping street that stretches around the elevated railway tracks between JR Ueno Station and JR Okachimachi Station. About 400 stores line the street, selling everything from fresh food to fashion, brand-name goods, and miscellaneous goods, and you can also enjoy eating there.

It is one of the most famous spots in Tokyo, with good old taverns under the elevated railway tracks, vending machines selling insect food, and locations for TV dramas and movies.

We also walked around the retro shopping street under the elevated railway tracks. It’s also a popular tourist spot for its festival-like atmosphere, with food stalls lined up for you to bargain with the shopkeepers!
