Welcome to ONJUKU CHUO BEACH in CHIBA Prefecture, a beach that doesn’t disappoint.
This is the second beach that I’ve been to in Japan and so far the better one. I went there in summer 2020 in August. Yes, alone. Why? Well, because one day, while i was taking a break at work, I felt I wanted to go to the beach on my next dayoff (which happened to be on the next day). It was a feeling I couldn’t shake, and so i searched the internet, and ended up here in ONJUKU the following day. My friends weren’t available because of work and some other reasons and I already made up my mind to go with or without someone with me; thus, with a bit of courage, I went alone. It was my first time ever to travel alone to a bit far and an unfamiliar place!
The weather was great. I could find a spot to enjoy freely, and for someone who really loves the beach, I enjoyed my time swimming and playing with the waves. And what I loved the most, my mind was refreshed and it made me feel better mentally and physically. Also, I think at some point, it made me appreciate more about going out alone sometimes. I have to say it was one of the best times of my life in Japan. I’v been dying to go there again but circumstances just don’t allow me to. Next time, when I am able to, I’ll make plans and go with friends, and try surfing.
