For our second breakfast (served in our our room – Shien-An) at Takefue ryokan near Kurokawa Onsen in Kumamoto, Kyushu, we oped for the Western meal. While it was nice, I suggest you stick with Japanese – especially since that’s the whole purpose of being there. The Western breakfast was nice, but wasn’t much better than what you’ll find in fine establishments in the West.
