ストーンサークル 小樽市 Stone Circle in Otaru City

忍路環状列石は、北海道小樽市忍路にあり、日本の考古学史上初めて報告されたストーンサークル（環状列石）である。現在までに小樽市から余市町にかけて80基以上のストーンサークルが確認されているが、その中でも忍路環状列石は最大のものであり、約3500年前の縄文時代後期のものであり、集団墓地であったという説が有力である。1961年に国の史跡に指定された。忍路環状列石から西に約1㎞の地鎮山（標高50ｍ）の山頂にあるのが、地鎮山環状列石、こちらも約3500年前の墓地であると考えられているが、集団墓地ではなく個人のものとされている。
The Oshoro Stone Circle is located in Oshoro, Otaru, Hokkaido, and is the first stone circle reported in the history of Japanese archeology. To date, more than 80 stone circles have been confirmed from Otaru City to Yoichi Town, but the Oshoro Stone Circle is the largest, and is believed to have been a mass grave about 3,500 years ago. At the top of Mt. Jichinyama (elevation 50m), about 1km west of the Oshoro Stone Circle, is the Jichinyama Stone Circle, which is also thought to be a cemetery about 3500 years ago. It is not a mass grave, but an individual graveyard.
