It’s the first time that I have ever consumed water from a natural lake in all of my life. The taste was a little “fishy.”

Unfortunately, my sandal would succumb to the cold whilst swimming in Lake Pukaki leaving me with a moment of deep reflection realizing that I would never be able to wear those sandals again, sandals that were part of my life for nearly 10 years.

I quickly got over the death of my sandal and continued on with the adventure!
