… Felix gum, that glob of oddly-textured, somewhat grape-flavored stuff that looks like a hashi oki (chopstick rest), was another item on my list of errands. Everyone in the family except perhaps Debb, loves the taste and the texture of what we were told was gun made from whale blubber. Whether that’s accurate or not isn’t anything about which I’ve been clear all these years. Intuitively, I think it’s not but I don’t know. It doesn’t matter anyway. What matters were the calls, “Hey, Papa, remember to get some more Felix gum.”
If you enjoy the “windshield tours” then you’ll enjoy the first roughly 1/3 of this video. If you enjoy walking around, aimlessly gawking at people and store fronts with the occasional walk through one of the stores, then you’re bound to enjoy the latter 2/3.
