I took a quick break, but I am back with another adventure here in Japan! This week we are venturing out to Saga, Prefecture (only about 40 minutes from Sasebo!) in order to soak up some of the beautiful natural views and enjoy some farm to table eats. Saga is one of my favorite places here in Japan and I had to highlight just how beautiful this prefecture is!

We have officially entered summer in Japan and if you didn’t know…it’s pretty miserable. The hot and humid days really aren’t fun and they take all my energy out and leave me not really wanting to go anywhere without AC (ha!) but I knew it was time to get out and explore after a bit too much time spent indoors.

We started the day at Café Coeur de Nature and enjoyed some amazing set lunches. I really recommend everything on their small menu, it is all so fresh and so tasty! Be sure to watch out for their odd hours, but I promise it’ll be worth the wait!

After that we drove into the countryside to see the Terraced Rice Fields of Warabino. These were so quiet, secluded, and just overall a very zen experience. The observation deck wasn’t exactly the most striking so I included a few other terraced rice field views linked below:

Right now is the perfect time to go see these lush fields! Definitely a natural wonder you don’t want to miss.

From there we ventured to the Takeo City Library where we ogled at how beautiful the library itself is and then enjoyed our Saga Jimoto Starbucks Fraps! The Starbucks specialty drink was chocolate and brown sugar!
