Today I explore the sunrise express.
The sunrise express is the last sleeper train in Japan. As I said last, there used to be many sleeper trains in Japan until a couple decades ago. Sleeper trains are vanishing due to air travel and buses becoming dramatically cheaper.
In my opinion, the sunrise express could retire any year now. If you want to try this once in your life, it’s now or never.

To reserve a ticket for a sleeper “room”, you must go to a JR ticket office.
On the sunrise express there are also flat “seats” which are much cheaper but lack privacy. They are called Nobinobi-Zaseki. You can reserve a ticket of which, online or at a ticketing machine at most JR stations.

To those who have a Japan rail pass, you can ride the Nobinobi-Zaseki with just a reservation (no additional cost).
But if you want to reserve a room that has privacy like our room in the video, You will have to pay additional costs.

If you don’t want to miss my upcoming videos make sure to subscribe to the Find your Japan Channel.

A big thanks to Tommy for being in the video
