I drove and filmed in Kanagawa and Chiba the other day. This vlog is about the ferry trip from Kurihama Port (Kanagawa) to Kanaya Port (Chiba).

Tokyo Bay (東京湾, Tōkyō-wan) is a bay located in the southern Kantō region of Japan, and spans the coasts of Tokyo, Kanagawa Prefecture, and Chiba Prefecture. Tokyo Bay is connected to the Pacific Ocean by the Uraga Channel. Its old name was Edo Bay (江戸湾, Edo-wan). The Tokyo Bay region is both the most populous and largest industrialized area in Japan.
Tokyo Bay juts prominently into the Kantō Plain. It is surrounded by the Bōsō Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture to the east and the Miura Peninsula in Kanagawa Prefecture to the west. The shore of Tokyo Bay consists of a diluvial plateau and is subject to rapid marine erosion. Sediments on the shore of the bay make for a smooth, continuous shoreline.

Tokyo-Wan Ferry (東京湾フェリー, Tōkyō-Wan Ferī, “Tokyo Bay Ferry”) is a Japanese car ferry operator. Its line links Yokosuka, Kanagawa and Futtsu, Chiba, across Tokyo Bay in some 40 minutes. Headquartered in Yokosuka, the company started its service from 1957. The ferry started to accept PASMO smart cards from June 2008.
At the Port of Kanaya, connection tickets to Keihin Electric Express Railway (Keikyū) Lines are available. The single ticket comprises the ferry to the Port of Kurihama, Keikyū Bus from the port to Keikyū Kurihama Station, and Keikyū Railway Line from the station.

The Port of Yokosuka (横須賀港, Yokosuka-kō) lies to the south of the Port of Yokohama on Tokyo Bay. Under the Ports and Harbors Law of Japan it is classified as an Important Port. The city of Yokosuka administers the port.
The Port of Yokosuka has 100 berths of length 4.5 m or more. It covers 13 areas from Oppama in the north to Kurihama and Nobi in the south. Kurihama is the place where Commodore Matthew Perry landed in 1853. Since then it has been developed for military, shipping, and ferry traffic. The U.S. Navy base and the Maritime Self-Defense force base lie within the Port of Yokosuka.
Located near the Nissan Oppama plant, Yokosuka is a major port for the shipping of automobiles. The fishing fleet brings in tuna and other ocean products. Tokyo-Wan Ferry links Yokosuka with the Port of Kanaya in Futtsu, Chiba Prefecture. Other ferries go to Tokyo, Izu Ōshima and Ōita in Kyūshū.
