🇺🇸 We drive the expressways and mountain roads from Yokohama to Mount Fuji in our Kei Mini Camper Van!

In this second part of our four-part “Camper Van In Japan” mini-series, we drive from Yokohama to the 5th Station on the South Face of Mount Fuji.

En route, we stop at the Ebina Service Area to grab breakfast and sort out the GoPro Hero7 (see below), which is playing up. At Ebina Services, we discover Anpan sweet bread with Azuki bean paste – an unexpected treat!

We explore the area around the viewing station, and then set out to find a Michi No Eki (Road Station) where we plan to camp.

That night we make it to the Doshi Micho No Eki (roadside rest area), a real gem of a location and a perfect place to set up the camper van for a sound night’s sleep (with coffee and extremely clean restrooms for the following morning).

GoPro Hero7 Problems:

The problem with the GoPro Hero 7 is that it is overheating (this seems to be a common problem). We need to run the camera with the USB connection for the extended filming periods, and this is just too much for the camera it seems. Our solution is to point one of the conveniently placed cooling air vents in the Suzuki Every camper van at the camera, which is mounted to the windshield. This works!
