倉敷川の畔から鶴形山南側の一帯に白壁なまこ壁の屋敷や蔵が建ち並んでいます。
江戸時代、幕府直轄の天領に定められた地域でした。
日本最初の西洋美術館大原美術館もあります。
It is the scenery of Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter in Okayama Prefecture.
White-walled Namako-walled mansions and warehouses are lined up in the area on the south side of Mt. Tsurugata from the banks of the Kurashiki River. During the Edo period, it was an area designated as a Tenryo under the direct control of the Shogunate.
There is also the Ohara Museum of Art, the first Western Art Museum in Japan.
