Enoshima, Kanagawa, Japan

Hello guys! This is Lyssa. Welcome to my Youtube channel.

This video is our day trip to Enoshima from Tokyo.

If you want to have a quick summer getaway from Tokyo, confused between beaches and walks, Enoshima is on top of my recommendation list.

You can easily go to Enoshima Island from Shinjuku via the Odakyu line for about an hour and a half, for only ¥640 from Shinjuku Station to Katase-Enoshima Station.

Enoshima is a small island located in Kanagawa Prefecture. Its famous landmarks are the Enoshima Shrine honoring Benzaiten, a Buddhist goddess, the Enospa hot springs, the English-style Samuel Cocking Garden with the Enoshima Sea Candle lighthouse, the Iwaya Caves and many more…

After lunch, we continued our sightseeing in the island. There is a discount plan for sightseeing on Enoshima. The Enoshima 1-Day Passport or the eno=pass can be purchased for only ¥1000 for adults, and ¥500 for children. It includes the Enoshima Escar, a one-way escalator to the top; Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden; Enoshima Sea Candle, a Lighthouse Observation Tower; and the Enoshima Iwaya Caves. In addition, the passport provides discounts at restaurants and souvenir shops on Enoshima, and at the Enoshima Aquarium. You can buy the eno=pass at Katase Enoshima Tourist Information, Fujisawa City Tourist Center, or at the first Enoshima Escar ticket booth.

The name “Chigogafuchi Abyss” comes from the tragic tale of a young Buddhist page, called chigo, who killed himself by jumping into the deep water here. The evening glow is very beautiful on a clear day, and you can also enjoy a view of beautiful Mt. Fuji from here.

We just finished touring the island.
We decided not to go all the way up to the lighthouse anymore, maybe next time 😄 Unfortunately, the Iwaya cave was closed already when we reached the area. It closes at 6pm in summer on weekends and holidays. So we decided to go to the beach front to watch the sunset.

Around April and September, you can see the “Diamond Fuji” it is a natural phenomenon in which the sun sets (or rises) just behind the summit of Mt. Fuji and creates a diamond-like glow.

We ended our trip playing by the beach.
