ご由緒
日米通商条約の締結により港が開かれまして、一漁村でありました横浜は全国各地から押し寄せる移住者を吸収して一躍国際港の街となりました。
これらの移住者の中には成田不動尊を信奉する東京や千葉の人々が非常に多く熱烈なる念願のもと、成田山大本山に願い出るに至り明治3年、遙拝所が設けられました。
遙拝所の本尊には成田山の観音院の不動明王像を遷座奉安しました。これが開創でございます。
その後信徒の増加、講社の設立、遙拝所では手狭となります。
独立した成田山教会所を求める声が上がり「高島易断」で名高い高島嘉右衛門より広大な敷地の寄進を受け、成田山教会所が設立されました。かくて明治10年、遙拝所から御本尊が移し奉り、明治26年、寺号を「成田山延命院」とし今日に至ります。
History
The port was opened by the conclusion of the Japan-US Trade Treaty, and Yokohama, which was a fishing village, suddenly became an international port city by absorbing migrants from all over the country.
Among these migrants, there were a large number of people from Tokyo and Chiba who worshiped Narita Fudoson, and with the ardent desire, a far-reaching place was established in 1897 when they made a request to Naritayama Omotoyama.
The statue of Fudo Myo at the Kannonin in Naritasan was relocated to the principal image of the Harukasho. This is the founding.
After that, the number of believers increased, the establishment of a lecture company, and the place of worship became too small.
The Naritayama Church was established with the donation of a vast site from Kaemon Takashima, who is famous for “Takashima Kaemon”, as a result of calls for an independent Naritayama Church. Thus, in the 10th year of the Meiji era, the principal idol was transferred from the far worship place, and in the 26th year of the Meiji era, the temple name was changed to “Naritasan Enmeiin” and continues to this day.
