Namahage Taiko is an old-with-a-new-twist folk performing art unique to Oga that combines the nationally designated important intangible folk cultural property “Oga Namahage”, which is also registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, with the ancient Japanese drum “Wadaiko”. The only place in the world that has its permanent performances is Gofu in Oga Onsenkyo. Many people come to Oga Onsenkyo for Namahage Taiko. Don’t miss the performance of the Japanese drum group “Onga” formed by local young people. You can also experience playing at Gofu.
