Tybee Island is a lovely beach community in Georgia, 20 minutes from downtown Savannah. It’s so close that’s actually considered the Savannah beach. The Tybee Island beach has 2 main areas: South Beach and North Beach. Close to North Beach, you’ll find Fort Screven and the oldest and tallest lighthouse in Georgia. To see everything up close, make sure you don’t go on a Tuesday like we did.

When you visit Tybee Island, take the chance to also stop at Fort Pulaski, on Cockspur Island. This is an impressive fort heavily damaged by canons during the Civil War.

About the missing nuclear bomb: it got lost in the ocean during a training exercise in the 1950s and it was never found. Apparently, it cannot detonate as it was not active.

This video is part of a road trip from South Carolina to Florida.

β–Ί WHO AM I?

I am a Brazilian journalist living in the United States. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world… stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and he’s actually camera-shy, that’s why he’s behind the camera most of the time πŸ˜‰
