Gentle water over green rocks 😌🌿🍃
The cooling waters of Otome no Taki Waterfall (Waterfall of Young Girl), Tochigi Prefecture, fall down more than 10 meters (32 feet) into the Sawanagawa River, where it is met by rocks covered in a thick, vibrant carpet of moss. The name of the waterfall comes from the tale where a young fisherman encountered a beautiful blind girl at the top of the waterfall; however, there are many other tales regarding this waterfall as well.
*As there was a rockfall around the waterfall, please do not enter the area beyond the promenade.
