Kokura Castle is a Japanese castle located in Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture.There are other names such as Katsuyama Castle, Katsuno Castle, Shigetsu Castle, Yukin Castle, and Koino Castle.

In 1569 (Eiroku 12), Mr. Mouri of the Chugoku region built a castle, and Takahashi Kansei and Katsunobu Mouri lived there.From 1602, Tadaoki Hosokawa built a Kara-zukuri castle tower over about seven years, and after Mr. Hosokawa transferred Kumamoto, Tadamasa Ogasawara, the Fudai Daimyo, entered the castle in 1632, and Mr. Ogasawara stayed there until the end of the Edo period.

In 1837, the castle tower was burned down due to a misfire, and in 1866, the Kokura domain burned the castle itself in the turmoil of the second Choshu expedition.

From the Meiji era to World War II, the headquarters of the 12th Infantry Brigade and the 12th Division were placed in the castle.After the war, the castle tower was rebuilt in 1959.
