These are our moments traveling as a family of four through Osaka, the kitchen of Japan. We spent two weeks here following some time in Beijing, traveling either on foot or by train since the city is both compact and well-connected by rail.
While in Japan, we headquartered in the Namba neighborhood, and were able to do the following which we recommend to you! Here are 18 ideas, roughly in the order of the video:
1) Walk through Namba neighborhood
2) Eat a bowl of ramen noodles
3) Tour Dotonbori Street
4) Try takoyaki (fried octopus balls)
5) Ride the Ebisu Tower Ferris Wheel
6) Walk around the Shinsekai neighborhood
7) Taste matcha ice cream
8) Buy a Lawson’s sandwich
9) See the Tsutenkaku Tower
10) Visit a retro arcade
11) Attend the Toka Ebisu festival
12) Sample Osaka Street Food
13) Visit a multi-story modern arcade
14) Shop at Toys R Us (still in business here!)
15) Eat melon pan (with ice cream, if you date)
16) Visit Osaka’s green spaces
17) See any of these sights light up at night!
18) Take the train to nearby cities like Kyoto

ABOUT US:
We are the Salas Family, an Indigenous traveling family with roots in Wisconsin, United States. After deciding we had too little time for family and travel while chasing the American Dream, we decided to rent out our house and take a lap around this big, beautiful Earth. This is our journey as a full-time traveling family with two small kids.
