The Nabana No Sato Illumination, located in Mie but near to Nagoya is one of Japan’s most well known illumination event. 2017’s special themed area (the mega LED Walls) was dedicated to the prefecture of Kumamoto.

The special themed area features LED light re-creations of Kumamoto Castle, Nabegataki, and other famous Kumamoto destinations. This is right where you get to see Kumamon.

One thing that doesn’t change every year is the world famous light tunnels. The first Tunnel of Lights is around 200 metres long and is created using around 1.2 million flower shaped light bulbs.

The second is a Kawazu Sakura light tunnel. Just as mesmerising as the first tunnel but around 100 meters long with 700,000 pink LED lights.

Background information:
As part of my 16 days solo travel through 2017-2018, I decided to edit my past travel videos and upload them to YouTube.

I really love winter illumination and was really upset about having to work the whole end of year period till Christmas 😂. This means I would miss many of Japan’s illuminations as they would often end on the night of Christmas.

Nevertheless I booked my trip on the 26th of December, flew to Tokyo and started my winter holidays. This was on Day 4 of my holiday and I was really glad the illumination event in Nabana No Sato was still on. This was actually the first illumination event I experienced back in 2012 which was where I started my interest. I was really glad to be back, however I do regret not taking more videos or visiting more areas in the park. (They have an observatory 360 platform , foot baths and begonia gardens.)

There is also a nearby Nagashima Spa Land where an amusement park with the world’s longest, tallest and fastest among complete-circuit coasters, one of the world’s best wooden roller coasters the White Cyclone and onsen theme park is located .

Definitely a place to spend the day or two when visiting Nagoya prefecture.

As I could not find any videos of this event in my archived, I decided to stitched a video out using my Instagram stories as well as iPhone live photos. It is definitely a theme park one should not miss if you love illumination.
