The atmosphere of this shopping street has changed drastically with the disappearance of the arcade. I don’t know how busy it was when there was an arcade, but now I feel lonely. The sun-shaped clock in the arcade is left in a different place. The sun will continue to illuminate this shopping street.

今回は、千歳市にあるニューサンロード商店街を歩いてみました。かつてこの商店街にはアーケードがあったのですが、15年前に取り壊されてしまいました。アーケードが無くなって、この商店街の雰囲気は大きく変わってしまいました。アーケードがあった当時、どの程度賑わっていたのかはわかりませんが、どことなく寂しい雰囲気になってしまったと感じます。アーケードにあった太陽の形をした時計は別の場所に残っています。この太陽はこれからもこの商店街を照らし続けることでしょう。
