Video of the Fukiage Jigokudani Promenade(鬼首温泉・吹上地獄谷遊歩道) in Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture Japan, which is the unexplored region of Onikobe Onsen, where hot springs spout from more than 10 places along Fukiagezawa, where the pleasant river murmuring and fresh greenery are beautiful.
Geothermal activity is still recognized in the Onikobe Caldera, which stretches over a section of about 13km in diameter centered on Mt. Arao, which straddles the three prefectures of Miyagi, Akita, and Yamagata. A high-temperature source springs from the gaps between the rocks along Fukiagezawa, which flows through a part of it.
This area has a promenade as a tourist attraction of Osaki City, and you can experience the life of the earth that emits high temperature heat up close while looking at the beautiful scenery with abundant nature such as fresh greenery and autumn leaves.
The road was temporarily closed due to the deterioration of the promenade, but now it is fully accessible due to the construction of a new promenade in 2nd year of Reiwa. The “Murasaki-Jigoku(purple hell)” where hot water blows up to a height of about 10 meters is very powerful, so please visit it.

心地よい川のせせらぎと新緑が美しい吹上沢に沿って10数か所から温泉が噴き出す鬼首温泉の秘境・宮城県大崎市にある吹上地獄谷遊歩道の映像です。
宮城・秋田・山形の3県を跨ぐ荒雄岳を中心に直径約13kmの区間に広がる鬼首カルデラは、現在も地熱活動が認められており、その一部を流れている吹上沢沿いの岩の隙間からは湯煙と共に高温の源泉が湧き出しています。
吹上地獄谷遊歩道は宮城県北に位置する大崎市の観光名所として遊歩道が整備されており、新緑や紅葉などの自然豊かな美しい風景を眺めながら、高温の熱を発する地球の息吹を間近で体感する事ができます。
遊歩道の老朽化のため一時通行止めとなっていましたが、令和2年に新しい遊歩道が整備されたため現在は全面通行可能となりました。
高温の熱湯が10メートルほどの高さまで吹き上がる「紫地獄」はとても迫力がありますので、是非訪れてみてください。
