My last trip to Japan was past the Sakura blooms peak season in Tokyo. I continued my cherry blossoms chase in Aomori, a prefecture in Northern part of Japan, just in time to appreciate its own spring charm.
Ashino Park in Aomori may be reached via Ashino Koen station. It is probably the most popular station in Aomori, as it is an attraction itself. Tourists take their safe positions near the platform to capture scenic photos of incoming stove train with an arc of cherry blossoms at the background.
Hirosaki Park is another popular tourist destination in Aomori. Visitors can spend one whole day in this massive park, have picnics and enjoy the refreshments and free entertainment, marvel at the blooms and sights including the famous Hirosaki Castle.
